Grade 4

In Grade 4, we are studying from the "Discovering French Bleu" Textbook. Throughout the year, we will be studying units 1, 2 and 3, and the students will be provided with a strong foundation upon which to build further understanding of the French language.

What are we studying now?

By the end of April, students will be able to ask how much something costs and ask a friend to lend them money.

So far, students have been introduced to:

- the French speaking World and how to pronounce French names.

- saying hello and good-bye and spelling their names.

- say where they are from and what nationality they are.

- greeting people, asking someone where they are from, and expressing how they are feeling.

- #s 0-60

- expressing time, using the 24-hour clock

- identifying friends and relatives (close, and extended family)

- #s 61-100

- introducing their family, saying how old they are and finding out someone’s age

- saying that they are hungry and thirsty

- offering a friend something, asking for something, and ordering food and drink at a café.
