Grade 6

In Grade 6, we are studying from the "Discovering French Bleu" Textbook. Throughout the year, we will be studying units 7, 8 and 9. Students will continue to build on their understanding of the French language and consolidate their knowledge of French grammar.

What are we studying now?

By the end of May, students will be able to describe the different meals of the day, to talk about their favourite foods, prepare a shopping list and do the grocery shopping, to ask for a certain quantity of something.

So far, students have be introduced to:

- clothes and accessories

- describing the clothes they wear

- expressing an opinion about clothes

- asking someone’s opinion about an item

- the conjugation of all regular verbs (-er, -ir, -re)

- making comparisons

- making suggestions

- discussing weekend activities, talking about individual summer and winter sports, describing their vacation and travel plans

- talking about what they do and never do

- describing what they did, and narrating what happened in the past (Passé Composé with avoir and Passé Composé with être).
